FAMILIES have been flocking to Tropiquaria Zoo to celebrate ‘Love Your Zoo Week’.

The idea of the week is for visitors to go along to one of the participating zoos to show their love for it and learn more about what it does.

Tropiquaria has been running a number of zoo trails with prizes and a colouring contest. Children have been having plenty of fun learning all about the different animals at the zoo.

Some budding zookeepers have even been having a hold of some of the various animals.

Tropiquaria director Chris Moiser said: “It’s been going really well this week.

“We’re one of over 70 zoos taking part in the week and it’s important because it means we can tell the public a bit more about the work we do.

“We’re not just about having fun but we do a lot of conservation and educational work and it’s a chance for the staff to explain to people what they do every day.” ‘
