GCSE and A level students in Somerset schools and colleges will be able to sit their exams as normal after a teachers’ union called off a proposed strike.
The National Union of Teachers was due to walk out in the week beginning June 23, coinciding with the end of the exams season.
The NUT has announced it is postponing the action in a bid to progress talks with the Government over pay, pensions and conditions.
But it warns it will strike on July 10 when other unions are also considering striking if talks fail.
