CHILDREN at West Buckland Pre-school are tucking into healthy snacks thanks to a cash donation.
County councillor Ross Henley gave £250 from his healthy living grant, with the cash going towards providing fresh fruit or vegetables every day.
Libby Heaton-Jones, chairman of the pre-school's committee, said: “The healthy snack is an important part of the day for the children. They sit up as a group with the staff and eat healthy food.
“Our aim is to encourage good eating habits from an early age and the children also talk and read about keeping healthy.
“As a charity, we are extremely grateful for this grant which goes a long way to our annual bill for healthy fruit and vegetable snacks for every child.”
