THIS bundle of joy has the prestigious honour of being the first baby born at Bridgwater’s new hospital.

Sabrina Stowell dashed to the hospital at 1.30am on May 15 and baby boy Fox Lee Nicholls was born at 3.30am. The whole process went so well that mother and son were home by 6.30am.

Dad Adrian Nicholls, 30, said: “It’s really lush in there. The staff were all really good. It was quite quick for us because we went in just after midnight and left by half six that morning.”

Fox is the first child for Adrian, who works as a carpenter with UK Storage in Bridgwater.

Adrian and Sabrina, who live in Stockmoor, didn’t get to see much of the building because everything went so quickly.

Sabrina, 26, said: “It’s amazing there and the facilities are great at the hospital. Because it was so quick and relaxed, we got to spend the whole day after at home with the baby.”

As for the baby’s name, Sabrina said they came up with it while watching X-Files, featuring the character Fox Mulder.

Sabrina said: “We like unusual names. As I work in childcare, I hear hundreds of names and I’ve never heard Fox.”

The £33million Bridgwater Hospital, in Bower Lane, opened last month and replaced the town’s 200-year-old facility in Salmon Parade.
