A FOOD festival about how to cook on a budget has proved a hit in Chard this week.
CHAR-Delicious, Chard’s Community Cheap and Easy Food Festival, was held in the Guildhall on Monday from 10am to 3pm.
A prize was awarded for a ‘store-cupboard challenge’ for the most inventive recipe ideas based on ingredients found in an everyday kitchen.
Kate Rew, who runs Bubble & Speak, said: “The CHAR-Delicious food festival is a chance to discover fun ways to prepare tasty, cheap and healthy meals and snacks.
“Visitors saw how easy it is to cook delicious food with fresh ingredients.
“In these difficult times when people are often struggling to make ends meet this festival is about trying to give people new ideas about how to eat healthily on a budget and to share their great ideas too.”
