A FUNDRAISING day to raise money for Breast Cancer Care and the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, raised £1,250 at Ilminster Cricket Club at the weekend.

Claire Rice, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June last year, organised the event on Sunday as a thankyou to causes who helped her get back on her feet – she has now been given the all-clear.

There was a charity cricket match between past and present players, and the weather stayed fine so a barbecue could be started with cream teas and cakes.

Youngsters could also enjoy the day with a bouncy castle and there was a raffle to help bring in extra funds.
