THE rate of diagnosed cases of coeliac disease in the UK has seen a fourfold increase in the past two decades, researchers at the University of Nottingham have found.

The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence previously estimated that only 10-15% of those with coeliac disease had been diagnosed, but the level has increased to 24%.
