MORE than £12,000 was raised in 12 months by the charitable members of Burnham’s Moose organisation.
At the April lodge meeting, when the group performs its yearly change-over of officers, Burnham’s Moose handed out donations to local charities.
The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance was the biggest benefactor, receiving a cheque for £6,815.32.
Children’s Hospice South-West received £2,514.98, FLAG Flood relief got £1,523 and Children in Need received £1,429.44.
At the meeting, governor Bryan Mudge handed over his chain of office to Mike Lang, while lady president Rita Harris handed over hers to Doreen Atyeo.
Mike and Doreen supported the club’s decision for Burnham’s Moose to raise funds this year for Alzheimer’s charities, while Mike will also be raising money for the RNLI flood rescue team, and Burnham Area Youth Centre.
