RARE aerial photographs depicting Britain from the sky have been collated by English Heritage.

Website Britain from Above, launched by English Heritage and the Royal Commissions on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and Wales, chronicles some of the oldest and most valuable images of the Aerofilms Collection.

It is a unique and important archive of over 1million aerial photographs taken between 1919 and 2006.

Here, we have picked out four of landmarks from Taunton, Bridgwater, Chard and Wellington. Can you guess where and what they are? Answers are at the bottom of this page.

Interesting photos - pity they are only "thumbnail" size and not "clickable" to view a larger size version.
