POLICE say good progress has been made on last year’s Police and Crime Plan with confidence in the force having risen to 76%.

The number of burglaries across Avon and Somerset has fallen by 1,766, and satisfaction among victims of anti-social behaviour stands at 82%.

However, reported incidents of domestic and sexual abuse have risen by 6%. Police say this is because people are becoming more confident to report to the police.

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “Over the past year the constabulary has met nearly all of the objectives I set them and, importantly, despite a number of national police issues confidence in your local police service remains high.”
