QUEEN’S College has been ranked in the top 20 in the UK for sport.

School Sport Magazine put the Taunton institution 17th on the list, making it the second best in the South-West behind Millfield. King’s College was ranked 28th nationally.

More weighting was given to success in a range of sports rather than single sports, and those sports with more schools competing.

Queen’s headmaster Chris Alcock said: “This accolade reflects our competitive achievement in a range of sports and honours schools from all over the UK which take competition seriously.

“We are fortunate to have tremendous sporting facilities here at Queen’s and the coaching our staff provides is second to none.”
