THE 50th anniversary of the Bridgwater Sea Cadets was celebrated in rousing fashion as they marched through the town centre on Saturday.
The cadets made their way from their base at The Docks to St Mary’s Church for a short service.
The troop was led by the Sea Cadet band, only a week after they had led scout groups from across Sedgemoor in the St George’s Day parade down a similar route through Bridgwater.
After the service, the sea cadets marched back through the town where dignitaries were lined up to greet the march and accept their salutes.
Among the dignitaries were Sea Cadet unit chairman Les O’Leary, Admiral of the Fleet Sir David Benjamin Bathurst, Lady Gass, and Bridgwater MP Ian Liddell-Grainger.
