AN Animal Management student, based at the Yeovil Centre, has recently completed work experience at the London Aquarium.

Gallina-Eilisha Begley, 18, from Yeovil worked in the guest experience team and shadowed octopus, ray, penguin, rainforest, shark, coral, seahorse and terrapin talks. She helped with feeding and was allowed to snorkel with the sharks.

Gallina, former student of Westfield Academy said, “I was very grateful to be given this opportunity. This allowed me to extend my knowledge of working with a wide variety of animals. I hope to go on to higher education and eventually become a zoo keeper.”

The Yeovil Centre is holding a Really Wild Day on Saturday 10 May, 11am – 3pm and has a range of activities on offer including falconry displays and tractor driving amongst other things!
