THE Exmoor Belles presented a cheque for £430 to Minehead lifeboat station as a result of the venture into the world of a risqué calendar production.
The RNLI was one of 12 charities chosen to benefit from the Porlock based group’s own version of the celebrated Calendar Girls fundraiser which saw members of a Yorkshire Women’s Institute produce a calendar featuring discreetly naked shots.
On Sunday, members of the group visited the station to meet the crew and present the cheque.
Sales of the calendar have so far raised well over £5,000.
Minehead RNLI chairman Bryan Stoner said the donation had got the season’s fundraising off to a healthy start.
He said: “It must be one of the more unusual ways of raising money, and clearly the ladies deserve special thanks for having the bravery to take on the challenge.”
