A MAJOR route in Ilminster will not re-open “for at least three months” as council bosses continue to assess cracks in the road.
The road has been closed since mid-February and frustration has been growing over when the route will re-open.
This week, the cracks in the road have been filled with tarmac and Somerset County Council say the work has been done to stop further water damage A spokesman said: “This is still in the early stages and is likely to take at least three months.
“We’ll then be in a position to consider how we can repair the damage.
“We’re working hard to re-open this road as soon as it’s safe to do so, but unfortunately, due to the severity of the problem it could remain closed for some time.”
