CAR owners who park in Bridgwater’s docks area are being warned of a series of incidents in which vehicles have been splattered in white paint.

The incidents have been going on for a few weeks in the areas of Church Path, Kidsbury Road and Crossacre and police have stepped up patrols.

PC Tony Freeman, of Bridgwater Police, told the Mercury: “There is CCTV in the area that police are checking and would encourage anyone with information to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“A number of vehicles have had white paint sprayed on them, this has caused a lot of inconvenience to the car owners and has also cost them money to repair the vehicles.”

Police have also been dealing with a spate of graffiti spray painting using ‘tags’ in the area, which is basically a stylised signature.

People with information are asked to contact PCSO Jess Barham on 101.
