92-year-old William Evans found in River Tone 'left notes' before disappearance

This is The West Country: William Evans. William Evans.

AN elderly man whose body was found in the river left a number of notes, an inquest heard.

Williams Evans, 92, of Magdalene Street, Taunton, was recovered by the emergency services from the River Tone at Firepool Lock following a call from a member of the public on Wednesday last week (April 16).

Mr Evans had been reported missing two days earlier.

West Somerset Coroner Michael Rose, who opened and adjourned the inquest in Taunton's Shire Hall last week, said a post mortem had failed to ascertain the cause of death.
