POLICE are probing a suspected arson attack on a partially built house in Wellington.

Firefighters were called to the property at Longforth Farm at 10.30pm on Monday (April 21) and found a fire within the first floor.

Officers are now working to establish the cause and are hoping to speak to any witnesses.

A police spokesman said: “The fire service told us about a fire which had been started deliberately at a new building development.

“An investigation into the circumstances of the fire has begun and we'd like to speak to anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the area.”

The Longforth Farm development will bring 500 homes to Wellington.
