SOMERSET’S first independent beauty pageant makes its return this year following the success of last year’s event.

Morgan Mancini from Minehead set up the Face of Purity Beauty Pageant with her mum, Charlie, after highlighting things that could be improved upon at competitions she had entered herself.

The pageant will take place at The Arc in the Princess Royal Sports Centre in Wellington on July 26.

There are four different categories – mini, junior, teen and adult – and unlike other pageants there is no question round, just a charity round where each entrant raises money for their chosen charity and the total raised goes to the winner’s choice.

On top of this, Morgan is running auditions to find the next big talent from the South West to take part in the show.

As well as getting paid, you will receive promotion.

Singers, dancers, jugglers, comedians, celebrity impersonators, musicians and other kind of talent acts are invited to take part.

Open auditions will take place at St Andrew’s Church in Taunton on Saturday, May 3, from 9am to 1pm.
