A FUND-RAISER has cycled the length of Britain in memory of his sister-in-law who died of cancer.

Paul Harrison, of Minehead, tackled the iconic John O’Groat’s to Land’s End challenge and completed the route in ten days.

Paul, accompanied by nephew Karl Blackmore and friend Chris Thorne, undertook the challenge in memory of sister-in-law, Moira Blackmore, and raised £6,000 for St Margaret’s Hospice.

He said: “My motivation for taking on this challenge arose from my experiences in being part of a family who have been affected by losing a loved-one to the devastating effects of cancer.

“During my many visits to the hospice, I witnessed the amazing dedication, compassion, love and support which was afforded to dear Moisy, and our family by the staff at St Margaret’s Hospice, in Taunton.

“I realised I wanted to do something to help support such a worthwhile cause; cycling the length of the country seemed a pretty good place to start.

”In addition to the sponsorship raised, Paul’s family also donated two DAB radios to be used by patients at the In-Patient Unit.
