POLICE investigating a crash in which a father was killed and his wife and young daughter were badly hurt have made a renewed call for witnesses.

A 28-year-old man from Taunton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the collision, which happened on the A31 between Winterbourne Zelston and Bere Regis in Dorset, shortly before 6pm on March 24.

He was the driver of a Subaru which was in collision with a Skoda being driven by a 43-year-old man from the Wimborne area, who died from his injuries.

The Skoda driver’s wife and daughter, who were passengers in the car, were seriously injured.

Police are particularly keen to speak to the driver, and any passengers, of a green hatch back style car, which may have had to take evasive action to prevent a collision with the Subaru before the fatal collision.

The driver of this car did not stop, possibly because they were unaware of what followed.

Anybody with information should call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 24:368, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555111.

The 28-year-old from Taunton has been released on bail until June.
