MIDDLEZOY Recycling Centre is shutting its doors on Monday (March 31) as part of Somerset County Council’s latest budget cuts.
The recycling centre in Middlezoy is one of two in Somerset closing next Monday, along with a centre in Coleford, as the two were of the least used in the county.
Between the Middlezoy and Coleford recycling centres they accounted for less than 2% of all recycling centre visits in Somerset.
To compensate for the closures, the recycling centres in Bridgwater and Taunton will now have extended opening hours seven days a week.
The centres will be open from 8am to 4pm every day, including Sunday, starting next Monday.
