TALENTED entertainers performed in front of over 55 judges for a place at this years’ Bridgwater Carnival Concerts.

Last Tuesday 22 hopeful acts auditioned at Bridgwater Town Hall, with 13 groups securing a place.

Tony Rudge, chief steward for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “We would like to thank every act for taking the time to apply and audition for our concerts. Once again receiving so much interest proves that the Bridgwater carnival concerts are as popular as ever.

“The standard was the highest ever, and the judges had a very difficult task. Those acts that didn’t make it through we would love to see back auditioning for next year’s event.”

Best Foot Forward and Viva La Diva dance groups were selected, as was ventriloquist Kevin Cripwell. Paige Brunton, Nathan Ball, Liam Duggan, Kylie Parsons, Jessica Gardner, Harriet Brixey, Gracie Wickens-Sweet and Georgia Handel were selected as vocalists with Callum Hill and Molly Gould picked as guitarists/vocalists.
