THE Wurzels’ feelgood concert to raise funds for, and the spirits of, Somerset’s flood victims, gets in full swing at Bridgwater’s Palace tonight (Thursday).

The West Country favourites (pictured) fixed the date at the height of the flooding devastation, and are looking forward to giving those affected a good time.

Wurzels’ accordion-playing pianist Tommy Banner urged Weekly News readers: “We’d love everyone to come along and support a very good cause.

“We’re doing it for everybody involved – and not only people in their houses but farmers and businesses – especially having only just ‘got back’ after last year’s floods.”

Every penny raised by Tommy, Pete, John and Sedge’s show of support will go to the Somerset Flood Relief Fund and Agricultural Benevolent Fund Institution.

Mad Dog Mcrea, the Devonshire gypsy-jazz crew, who know how to rouse a crowd, are in support.

Both bands, their teams, The Palace, Bridgwater Carnival, plus Apr Media and Midnight Mango, are giving up their services for free.

Tickets cost £12.50 online at www.midnightmango.co.uk, SeeTickets, TicketWeb and Gigantic. Doors open at 8pm.
