FIRE crews were called to Hendford today to free people trapped in a burning building.

Two crews and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Yeovil were sent to the incident t 12.36pm following a report to the Fire Service Control Room.

On arrival at the scene crews confirmed the fire was in a ground floor flat involving a boiler.

A spokesman said: “All persons were accounted for and crews got to work using breathing apparatus and hose reel to extinguish the fire.

“One hose reel, two breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation were used to extinguish a fire involving a wall mounted boiler.”
