THE first round of Minehead Rotary Club’s 22nd annual swimathon got off to a splashing start last week with 34 teams taking the plunge.
Over the past 21 years the event has raised over £102,000 for a variety of international, national and local charities and schools.
There are 120 teams taking part in the event this week and next in aid of Polio Plus, and local schools and children’s charities.
The slots are almost filled up, but there still may be an opportunity to get involved and enter a team.
