CHILDREN across the district entered into the spirit of World Book Day.

Members of staff also joined in the fun, with many dressing up as their favourite book characters alongside pupils.

It was the 17th annual World Book Day, designed to encourage youngsters to explore the pleasures of books and reading.

Wadham School in Crewkerne dedicated the whole week to celebrating books, putting on activities including a visit from an author and a prize-giving session, under the title of WadLitFest.
