MORE than 400 homes in the South West that had their benefits capped have now moved into work, or reduced their own benefit claim below the weekly limit of the cap.

Figures reveal 160 households subject to the benefit cap found jobs, since the limit was introduced in April.

Another 90 households either reduced their Housing Benefit claim, or stopped claiming it altogether.

This is why the foodbanks have so many people attending them.

For those who genuinely are in need of using Food Banks, they are a most welcome source, but how many are mis-using them, spending benefit money on cigarettes, and Alcohol, instead of food for their Children, ???? I wonder.
The Headline says " 400 Homes who have had Benefits Capped, 160 have moved into Work, and another 90 are living within the New Capping, that's 250, so what of the other 150 ???? Of the 400. Or have I misread it !!
There are too many families, whose numbers of children, are in excess of the Parental ability to provide for them, not just here in Bridgwater, but across the Country.
It is every Parents responsibility to provide for your children, not just produce offspring, so that you get extra benefits, as seems to be the case in some households, all this does is condemn those Children to living off the State Handouts, until they either Break the Cycle, or continue the Benefits, system through to their later life, and indeed living off the State Aid System, as if a Right, at the Expense of the rest of society, especially the Pensioners, who for the most case, have worked , Saved for over 40 years. Who are only able to live a meagre existence, as their Pension Provisions are no where as Generous as the State Welfare Handouts, to those who " Work - Flout the Benefits System" When , I hear that Benefits too be Capped @ £26.000, well let the Pensioners, who have paid their Stamps contributing for 40+ years! to a Pension, have the £26 k a year, and let the Work shy, benefit Scroungers, live off the Laughable State Pension Allowances. !!!!
Those, who are genuinely are disabled physically or otherwise, are entitled to receive financial assistance, I do not begrudge them their Welfare Payments at all. It is the Young Girls who get themselves pregnant in order to obtain Social Housing, and the Benefits that Accompany that. Also the Won't Work, could Work , who make little or no contribution to Society, but Expect Society to finance their living..........
