Cyclist steals iPhone from Bridgwater schoolboy
A CYCLIST has stolen an iPhone by snatching it from a Bridgwater schoolboy.
The theft happened in the town on Wednesday, March 5 at around 4.30pm when a 12-year-old boy was walking along Cranleigh Gardens and had taken his black Apple iPhone out of his pocket to check for messages.
A cyclist then rode up from behind him and grabbed the phone out of the boy’s hand before cycling along the footpath towards Salmon Parade.
A police spokesman said: “Fortunately the boy was not threatened or injured during the incident and the offender did not speak to him at all.”
The victim described the offender as a white man with a slim build and wearing a balaclava which showed just the eyes. He was also wearing a black beanie style hat, a black long-sleeve jacked and black jogger trousers. He was riding a black mountain bike with gears.
Anyone who recognises the description or has been offered a phone for sale in suspicious circumstances should call police on 101 and quote 22749/14. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
