THE YMCA is looking to recruit ten apprentices to work across its sites in a range of disciplines.

The posts will be supported by local training providers and cover: Food and Beverage Service, Administration and Front of House, Professional Cookery, Fitness and Youth Activities.

As a work-based training programme, young people will be given the chance to embark on workplace learning and formal off the job training. The term of the apprenticeship is usually around 18 months.

Martin Hodgson, Chief Executive of YMCA Somerset Coast, said: "These posts make such a difference to what we are able to offer, with young people being at the heart of our organisation it is important that we invest and given them the best employability skills for the future.”

The training element will be delivered in partnership with Bridgwater College, Weston College and Channel Training. The project is linked in with the EDF job brokerage scheme.

The recruitment events take place on March 12 at The George Williams Centre in Bridgwater from 10am -12 noon, and from BarCode in Weston from 2pm - 4pm, or email recruitment@ymca-sc.org
