A train tries to makes its way through the floods
NETWORK Rail says engineers will examine the railway line between Bridgwater and Taunton as soon as the water level drops far enough.
Until then, it will be impossible to assess the damage the water has had on the tracks and surrounding ground.
Passengers are continuing to be shuttled between the two towns by bus, with a limited service travelling to Taunton from Bridgwater via Bath.
