AN “amazing” mosaic made by pupils at Oake, Bradford & Nynehead CE Primary School has been given a grand unveiling.
Artists Sara Fairfax and Jo Dove have worked with youngsters and staff over the summer to help them make their own tiles containing personal patterns and imprints.
These tiles were then taken back to the studio where Jo and Sara applied glazes before arranging them into the stunning design on the school’s exterior.
Head teacher Nick Gilding said: “The mosaic depicts the children’s journey through our school as a river, with the children in the earliest years represented as raindrops, flowing into a larger body of water.
“This mosaic puts the finishing touch to a beautiful and powerful celebration of the school.”
