RESIDENTS of Chard who have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the town will be recognised at the annual parish meeting in May.
The Outstanding Service Awards will be presented by Mayor Jenny Kenton at the Guildhall from 7pm on May 6.
Town clerk Sarah Robson said: “The council is seeking nominations from the public of Chard residents who have unselfishly contributed to helping their community.
“These awards are all about recognising people in the town for the good work they’ve done helping others – it could be one single act or over a number of years.
“We want to hear about unsung heroes who have demonstrated outstanding voluntary service and commitment to others.”
If you know of someone who deserves recognition, send your nomination in writing, addressed to the clerk at Chard Town Council offices at the Guildhall.
All nominations must be received no later than Friday, March 29.
