MORE than 400 West Somerset residents passed through the doors at the Journey to Employment Event in Minehead last week.
The event provided advice about the range and variety of employment and training opportunities in the area.
There was also the chance to speak directly to employers.
Work related tasters offered visitors the chance to have a go at cake decorating, motor mechanics and hair and beauty.
The event at the Beach Hotel had representatives from Jobcentre Plus, West Somerset College and Acacia Training to name just a few.
A number of West Somerset College students and three YMCA volunteers were also on hand to help.
Cllr Karen Mills, lead member for regeneration and economic growth said: “We are all pleased at how successful this event has been.
“It is extremely important that everyone continues to work together to help our residents access employment and training opportunities.”
