THE Children’s Society shop on High Street in Burnham is in need of volunteers and stock donations.

Maxine Williams, shop manager, said: “We have been open since October 2013 and are now starting to look forward to the very busy summer season. We are looking for new volunteers to come and join our friendly team.”

The charity was founded 130 years ago and provides a range of services for disadvantaged children, such as those living in poverty or who are at risk from sexual exploitation.

Jessica Meale, volunteering coordinator at The Children’s Society, said: “Volunteers are the lifeblood of the organisation and our work could not continue without the vital funds raised by our over 90 shops.”
