A GROUP which runs horse riding for people with behaviour and communication difficulties has received a £1,400 boost.
Nyanza Masonic Lodge in Ilminster presented a cheque to the Horseshoes and Handprints who provides sensory therapy and special riding for adults and children.
The group say close contact with horses has been shown to release stress within people with conditions such as Asperger’s, autism and neurological disorders as well as providing respite for their families and carers.
The Ilminster Masons raised £700 at a charity lunch in July last year and that was matched with an application for Legacy Match Funding to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Somerset.
