TO mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity, is offering places to Somerset cyclists on a unique ride.
Exactly 100 years to the day on August 4, riders will depart from London and ride to Dover, cross the Channel to Calais then follow the front line to Compiegne, near Paris, where the Armistice was finally signed in 1918.
Registration costs £100 and riders must pledge to raise £1,000 for the charity. Email westernfront@greenjerseycycling.co.uk for details.
