A HOTEL pub in Nether Stowey is offering flood hit families free accommodation.
Jen Dinham, hotel manager of The Ancient Mariner, says the hotel can accommodate people affected by the floods free of charge for the first five days of their stay.
He told the Mercury: “We are unaffected in Nether Stowey and the roads are clear from here to Bridgwater and clear over the Quantock hills to Taunton, as we drive this way every day.
“Our suites are large, on the ground floor with wet-room showers and under-floor heating. Each room can comfortably sleep up to six people and we have seven rooms available (six on Friday night).
“Our hotel is to the rear of our pub with a large carpark.
“We are able to open the restaurant for anyone wanting breakfast, lunch and dinner, however, people may also bring their microwave to self-cater, as we have kettles and toasters in the rooms.”
If people want to stay longer than five days the hotel will charge £250 for seven days for up to four people over the age of five years old.
