What get's my goat is that us the tax payers are paying £1000'hr to private companies to give it to shareholders in dividends because of this.
Network rail is owned by the taxpayer, the east coast rail line was handed back to our Government by a company that couldn't make it pay and subsequently has made a profit, what is our Government doing? Handing it back to the private sector.
I myself loved Maggie Thatcher but disagree with some of her policies, eh we can't agree with everything, but the time has come to take the rail companies back into public ownership when their contracts come to an end.

I remember years ago that because the railway was flooded at Creech St. Michael they had to bring back steam engines to pull the trains through the water!

Yes and I loved her Strengths to, she was determined to not be overwhelmed by Arthur Scargill and the Miners Union. They would, had they won called out the Dockers to Paralyse the Country. Maggie was the Sir Winston Churchill of
1970's, what she achieved was Stability, a chance for the Country, which had been rocked by Strike after Strike, similar to the Present Day Unions attempting to Over-through the Legitimate elected Government. Through disputes that could be settled through Arbitration, as they should, but no the Unions want a Battle as they did in the 70's..
Next week it the Teachers, last two weeks the Rail and Underground Transport Staff, who next the White Collar Civil Servants...........
