THE PRINCIPAL for the new primary academy opening in Bridgwater this September has outlined his vision for the school.

Nick Riddiough has been appointed head of the school opening in north east Bridgwater, which is located on Kings Down, Regal Walk just off Bristol Road.

Mr Riddiough said: “The community that we serve is going to be absolutely central for our vision. We want to work with other businesses to provide the best for their children.

“People will be able to use our facilities to show that we are not just a school - we are an asset to the local community too.”

Mr Riddiough was the head teacher at Court de Wyck Primary School in North Somerset before taking on this new role, which he will take up full time in mid-February.

With the new school building, which is located on Kings Down, Regal Walk in north-east Bridgwater, set to be completed by mid-May, Mr Riddiough has already started speaking to parents.

He said: “We are really keen to get the message out there has been a tremendous response from the local community.

“The vision of the school is to create the best possible learning environment with happy children, successful learners, and confident individuals.

“Most of all, I am looking forward to opening the doors in September and welcoming the children into an exceptional academy.”

The school accepts children from age two to 11 and will open with 150 children on its roll books. There are additional plans to expand to 210 children depending on demand.
