THE children at Westover Green School have been dancing, singing and performing for the people in Bridgwater.

Joanne Ingram, dance and drama co-ordinator at Westover Green School, said: “The children gave a performance of Beauty and the Beast at Bridgwater Town Hall just before Christmas.

“Our next really big performance is Annie at the school hall in July, and we're performing at Robert Blake Science College in a couple of weeks' time.”

The dance and drama groups start children from age eight while the choir group has children as young as five singing.

Some staff members join in the fun with the drama club, performing with the children on stage, and there are always more children looking to join.

Ms Ingram said: “The total number of children is just under 80 for all three clubs and we have waiting lists to join all three.”

“Although I'm blowing my own trumpet, they're actually very good so we have a lot of demand for their performances.”
