THE high winds and heavy rains have battered sand dunes along Burnham’s coastline.
Beach wardens say the dunes at Brean and Berrow beaches have experienced some of the worst erosion they have seen in seven years.
They dunes have been reduced by up to 20ft since the beginning of this year.
Walkers are asked to take extra care in the area.
