AN elderly man has been left seriously ill following a crash on the M5 last week.
The collision occurred at 10.20am on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 as two vehicles travelled southbound between junctions 23 and 24 at Bridgwater.
A police spokesman said: “A silver Peugeot 206 and a grey Vauxhall Insignia were travelling on the southbound carriageway between junctions 23 and 24 around Bridgwater.
“A Grey Vauxhall Insignia car with one occupant collided with the rear of a silver Peugeot 106 carrying two people.
“The 84-year-old driver of the Peugeot received head and internal injuries and is currently in Musgrove Park Hospital in a serious but stable condition.”
The circumstances of the collision are being investigated and witnesses are asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit by calling 101.
