HIGHBRIDGE drivers will be hit by traffic delays on the A38 as a new sewer system is installed.

Wessex Water will be connecting houses along Huntspill Road in Highbridge to their sewer network and the work will involve laying new pipes along the A38.

Work starts on Monday, February 3 and is expected to take four weeks to complete. The road will operate under two-way lights during that time.

Matt Bridge, Wessex Water’s project manager for the scheme, said: “This work is essential to ensure that local residents have a more reliable sewerage network, rather than the septic tank that is currently connected to their properties. It will also have huge benefits for the environment.”
