THE police have met to discuss the latest situation with the flooding in Somerset and the ongoing response from emergency services.
Assistant Chief Constable Louisa Rolfe chaired a meeting of the Local Resilience Forum's Strategic Co-ordination Group (SCG).
The meeting included representatives from councils, emergency services, the Environment Agency, the Met Office and more.
The group was informed that despite further unsettled weather forecast for the next week, “water levels are unlikely to rise and any net change in water levels are predicted to be very small”.
All the information gathered will be collated and reviewed by the local authorities, supported by other agencies.
The group will meet again later this week to monitor progress.
