A MONKTON Heathfield woman has been named an animal charity’s volunteer of the year.
Lin Keitch was singled out for going the extra mile for Hearing Dogs, and described as a “wonderful fundraiser”.
The charity said Lin has worked tirelessly as the chairman of the Taunton and District fundraising branch, organising a full calendar of events to raise awareness and funds for Hearing Dogs.
The charity said that Lin, who has hearing loss herself, has contributed to raising over £50,000 since the branch opened in 2004.
She organises a coffee in the garden event, distributes Hearing Dogs money box kennels to friends, relatives and neighbours, and saves stamps, ink cartridges and post cards.
Dorothy Piper, recipient of Hearing Dog Puddle said: “Lin is a hard-working and enthusiastic lady. The charity is very close to her heart and she is passionate in her quest to raise awareness, and as much money as possible for Hearing Dogs”.
Community fundraising manager for the South-West, Marilyn Sydenham, added: “I totally agree with Dorothy. She has summed Lin up perfectly; she is passionate about the charity and works tirelessly on our behalf.”
