A RACE night is being held at the Rosewood Pub in Burnham to raise money for cancer research.

Barman Cory Parker dressed up as a horse to promote the event, which is being held on Friday, January 31 at 8pm.

Mark Robson, manager at The Rosewood, said: “We are aiming to raise £1,500 for cancer research. We’re doing this with a raffle and selling drinks on the race night itself.

“So far we’ve raised £200 with the raffle and we’re aiming for £400, with the rest being raised on race night.”

The prizes available at the raffle include a weekend break at one of Greene Kings Olde English Inns, two tickets to the opera, and a bottle of Jack Daniels.

The race night will have a big screen with horse racing being shown. All the money raised on the night will go to breast cancer research.
