SOMERSET College students Harry Tavare and Ellen Chilcott have picked up their Duke of Edinburgh gold awards.
Harry began his studies in Somerset College's entry programme and has worked his way up to Level 3 in information technology. He is also the first student at the college to achieve the bronze, silver and gold awards.
He said: "The scheme has really increased my confidence and helped my organisational skills. It's allowed me to mix with people I would not normally have had the chance to. I've really enjoyed the experience."
Ellen, who is studying a Level 2 Diploma in children's care, play, learning and development, said: "As part of the scheme I have been volunteering in a charity shop. It's been really rewarding and I've made new friends.
“I've had lots of fun and quite a few laughs. Parts of the gold award have been a struggle at times, but the challenge has been well worth it."
Harry and Ellen will be attending a ceremony at St James Palace in February to receive their official certificates.
