TOURISM businesses in Somerset are being offered free courses on promoting their holidays online.

Each three-hour course provides professional training on building websites, utilising social media and building market campaigns.

The project, aimed at boosting rural tourism, is being run by Somerset County Council, West Somerset Council, Sedgemoor District Council and Exmoor National Park Authority with funds from the EU.

The first class is on February 5 at Walkers Farm in Stathe, near Bridgwater, with a look at ‘Websites That Work’.

The second session, on February 12 at Exmoor House in Dulverton concentrates on Video Marketing while the third on February 20, which looks at Social Media, is being held at Becket House in Williton.

The final workshop in the series is at Blackmore Farm, Cannington, on February 27 and will ‘walk through’ a website visitor’s digital journey.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. For more information visit cool-somerset.weebly.com
