RESEARCH carried out by Somerset County Council’s road safety team concludes that 49.5% of drivers in the county don’t know the correct minimum legal tread depth for their tyres – it’s actually 1.6mm.
Also, 10.7% of drivers never check their lights and 27.5% have not done so for at least a month.
